The Museum of Romantic Life is located in the district of Nouvelle-Athènes, the former cradle of the 19th century Parisian Romantic movement. This fine museum was established in the former home of the Dutch painter Ary Scheffer, which was built in 1830. The building houses impressive permanent art collections that are representative of this era. You will discover paintings, portraits created by Scheffer and his contemporaries, as well as artefacts once owned by the 19th century novelist and memoirist George Sand (Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin). This enchanting place is known only to true lovers of art and history, and so is rarely crowded, enabling you and your loved one to savour its intimate atmosphere.
