Garden exhibition at the Grand Palais

From March 15th to July 24th 2017, the Grand Palais invites you to enjoy an innovative and creative exhibition. Jardins is a collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, films and more that looks at the garden as a botanical collection but also an art form and its creators as artists. Come and immerse yourself in the story of gardens, from the medieval period to the future, via what could be described as a giant collage.

Rock en Seine Festival

This year, the renowned Rock en Seine music festival, which takes place from August 25th to 27th in the Parc de Saint-Cloud on the edge of Paris, will celebrate its 15th anniversary. With its historic gardens designed by the 17th century landscape architect Andre Le Nôtre, the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud is an exceptional place in which to celebrate rock music. This event, which closes the season of summer festivals in France, has become the favourite of European rock fans. For a fabulous long weekend, Rock en Seine gathers together the legends of rock, pop stars, indie icons as well as rappers and the top DJs. Every year the occasion also allows attendees to discover talented young musicians and performers on the rise to fame. Even better, this is a family-friendly festival, so in addition to enjoying the concerts, children aged 6 to 10 are invited to participate in workshops and activities based around the theme of music. Among the featured performers you can expect to see at this year’s edition are stars of rock, rap and electro music such as Flume, PJ Harvey, Mac Demarco, Cypress Hill, Jain, Mø, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand and many others. Come and soak up the atmosphere amongst a crowd that usually includes up to 110,000 frenzied music fans from all over Europe!

Versailles and its great musical waters

What a wonderful setting is offered by the enchanting gardens of the Palace of Versailles. Walk amidst their picturesque groves, past the dancing waters of gorgeously sculpted fountains, while enjoying the music of the great baroque composers of old (Rameau, Lully, Charpentier). For the 2017 edition, which will take place from April 1st to October 29th, a new soundtrack will accompany the Musical Fountains Show. This annual event attracts an enthusiastic audience to the Gardens of Versailles as it has for over 350 years. Take the opportunity to admire the world’s largest open-air museum of statues! Every Saturday in the summer, the doors of the Grands Appartements of the Palace of Versailles will also be open to the public. A stirringly magical experience that is not to be missed. If you are planning to attend this musical event with your family, we suggest that you make a visit to the Bassin des Enfants Dorés, an historic fountain that has recently been painstakingly restored for this new season of the Musical Fountains Show.
